1 hour Free iPad Lessons for Beginners at the Richmond Retirement Village in Letcombe Regis, Wantage, on the first and third Mondays of the month. They are free and open to all.
Next iPad Lesson:
Passwords and security on the iPad
16th May 2016, 2 pm, in the Conservatory.
We will be covering creating and remembering passwords, knowing which password is being demanded, and keeping your iPad secure. If you have an iPad, please come along.
These free iPad lessons are aimed squarely at helping older people, new to such devices, use them to achieve both greater independence and easier connection with family and friends. We have run them for over a year now for the residents there, but they are open for anyone to attend.
Please, if someone you know could benefit from having use of the iPad clearly explained, or having their questions answered, let them know and encourage them to come along, preferably with their iPads.
We are especially trying to reach those who may have an iPad they have been bought languishing unused in a drawer, or those who have not yet connected in any way to the Internet.
The first workshop covered what the buttons on the iPad do and the use of the Homescreen. Yes, it is that basic, no one should feel that they know too little to start. But we find that even those who have become acquainted with the iPad learn something new.
Over the iPad course we will be focussing on the following topics:
IPad buttons and the Home screen
Typing on the iPad (Siri, real and onscreen keyboards)
Internet (Siri, Safari, Maps, iCloud)
Messaging (Mail, Messaging, FaceTime, Skype)
Passwords and security
Pictures (Camera, Photos)
Sound (Music, iTunes, iPlayer)
Video (Camera, Movies)
Time and personal information:
Clock and alarms (Siri again)
